Grinding discs clog after twenty minutes – and the project is still waiting for its first cut.

Anyone who wants to shape wood with flap sanding discs or sandpaper knows the result: the disc clogs, the material heats up, and after a short time you keep spinning without anything happening. The VeloCraft wood shaping disc transforms a standard 125 mm angle grinder into a cutting tool that cleanly removes hardwood, pine, and bark – without clogging, without heat buildup. The perforated carbon steel teeth grip the wood, the open channels immediately eject chips, and the curved disc shape glides through curves and contours as if there is no resistance.

Benefits

  • No more repurchasing worn-out sanding discs: Those who previously had to buy new flap sanding discs every few projects can now work through bowls, chair spindles, and root wood tasks with this carbon steel disc – one tool replaces an entire drawer full of sandpaper.
  • No stopping to free the disc: The hollow teeth immediately eject wood chips and sawdust backward, so you don’t have to turn off the machine and clean the disc every two minutes – the project progresses until it is finished.
  • No shaking at the grip from catching on knots or grain: The curved disc shape prevents the grinder from being jerked out of your hand when passing over knots – you maintain control without needing to adjust or catch the machine.

Specifications

  • Material: Forged carbon steel with metal tooth tips
  • Outer diameter: 125 mm (4.9 inches)
  • Bore diameter (mount): 22 mm (7/8 inch)
  • Profile: Curved / dome-shaped surface for contour work
  • Weight: 54 g (1.9 oz)
  • Compatible with: DeWalt, Makita, Milwaukee, Ryobi, Bosch, Metabo, Black+Decker and any 125 mm angle grinder with a 22 mm mount
  • Available sizes: 92 mm and 125 mm outer diameter

Usage

  1. Mount: Slide the disc onto the 22 mm spindle of the angle grinder and tighten the nut by hand – the 125 mm disc fits any standard 5-inch grinder.
  2. Start: Turn on the grinder and let it reach full speed before the disc touches the wood; then guide the curved surface at a shallow angle to the grain – the teeth do the work.
  3. Shape: Roll the disc through curves, edges, and hollows; chips fall away immediately, the cut stays sharp, and the shape forms in minutes instead of hours.

Pro tip: With green or resin-rich wood, reduce the pressing pressure and brush the tooth surface with a wire brush after each session – this keeps cutting performance consistently high over many projects.
